Our products are made by hand by women in Africa. Each handcrafted piece shows slight imperfections which add to the charm of these pieces. LIFTE works with various groups of women in several countries and our founder meets with the groups personally to make sure the women are crafting the products and that there are no middle men who could be profiting from their work. One contact person in each country organizes the workers. Our goal is to make sure these women have the opportunity to work, support themselves and their children and that we buy directly from them.
